Hello Scientists!


We’ve got a few quick updates for you, so let’s get stuck in:


JANUARY PATCH

Following your feedback from the launch of Echoes Part 2 in December, we’ve prepared and released a reasonably sized patch today. It mainly covers QoL improvements, many bug fixes and some performance improvements (with more on the way soon!)


But it also includes some new paints for the glass windows on your airship! The full patch notes are at the bottom of this post for your perusal.


500,000 SCIENTISTS DETECTED!


To wrap up, we want to thank every single one of you who has helped us cross this major milestone. Especially for a new studio releasing its very first game, reaching over half a million copies sold is something truly special!


Achievements like this allow us to stay independent and continue supporting the game with major free updates, just like we’ve done with Echoes Part 1 and Part 2 since leaving early access.


On the topic of Echoes updates, Part 3 is shaping up to be something quite big, as mentioned in the roadmap, we are looking at Spring 2026 for release. But we will of course, be sharing details on what’s coming, as well as beta testing opportunities, well before that.

ADDED / CHANGED:

  • New Glass Paints:

    - Dusk-Tinted Glass

    - Earth-Tinted Glass

    - Forest-Tinted Glass

    - Sea-Tinted Glass

  • Boiled Meteor Bean spoil time set to 3 days (in-game) (previously it was 1 day and 8 hours)

  • Artifact Lure model matched to icon

  • Refreshing textures and adjusting collisions on some airship devices

  • Reduced Moths size in the Egg Incubator device


FIXED:

  • Fixed a rare bug that was preventing the Location Radar from pointing towards the correct tile with the location for the Main Quest

  • Fixed a rare bug where clients in a co-op session randomly experienced a freeze in camera vertical movement

  • Fixed a bug where players, especially in a co-op session, couldn’t see the trap in the Hideout side quest

  • Fixed a bug where Radio Tower winches went through some buildings

  • Fixed a bug where players in a co-op session could pick up a bed with another player sleeping on it, leading to breaking the player's movement

  • Fixed a rare bug with freezing and never ending saving process

  • Fixed a rare bug where the New Nature Territory location wasn’t spawning

  • Fixed a rare bug where the airship could get stuck in a location after reloading a game

  • Fixed a bug with the missing Trash Bin icon

  • Fixed a bug where finishing Return to the Surface Lift quest may have left one of its subquests open, which was presented as a second main quest marker on the Location Radar

  • Fixed a bug where the quest Find Research Reports in the Laboratory at the top of the Infected Greenhouse might not be possible to complete due to not spawning in the world

  • Fixed a bug where the quest Find Research Reports in the Laboratory at the top of the Infected Greenhouse didn’t progress after landing on this location

  • Fixed a bug where the Location Radar side quest marker may have appeared without a location

  • Fixed issue with container quests steps not being completed after the whole quest is completed, allowing the highlight on the location to keep being displayed

  • Fixed some issues with Ladders on the Pirate Ship Hideout landmark

  • Fixed an issue with the Egg Incubator stopping working when loading a save while it was hatching an Egg

  • Fixed multiple visuals and audio issues related to loading a save during the hatching process

  • Fixed a bug with inaccessible or hard-to-spot or reach loot, e.g. under foliage

  • Fixed a bug with the missing or inaccessible Solid State Batteries box on Radio Tower locations

  • Fixed some missing sounds

  • Fixed a bug where some Paint Cartridges couldn’t be picked up

  • Fixed a bug where some Upgrade Parts in cupboards couldn’t be picked up

  • Liquid Luciferin brightness at night has been toned down

  • Small performance improvements

  • Numerous level art and level design fixes (e.g. floating and clipping objects, wrong floor and door collisions, missing door frames, etc.)


KNOWN ISSUES:

  • [PS5] When you try to run the game from an outside drive, the game starts with a black screen and won’t load

  • We observed some multiplayer problems with hosts being kicked from their sessions (to investigate this issue, we need some game logs, so leave us your email in the Reporting tool, please)

  • We observed some multiplayer problems with session joining - they’re not game-related, and we’re investigating why it’s not working (global internet services failures in the last few weeks had an impact on this issue)

  • Recycler displays wrong amount of Synthetics (10), when recycling Small Bottle, however it gives proper amount after recycling (15)

  • Painting the airship sometimes doesn’t work for clients in a co-op session

  • On rare occasions, Noah’s key card Terminal may not spawn

  • Night is Coming quest sometimes triggers when loading a game with a fully completed main quest line

  • Some side quest locations may not spawn in the world

  • Side Quest “The Metal Heads” can sometimes appear at two Radio Towers

  • FPS Drops in the Underdust
